Welcome to the 2012 edition of the North Carolina School Report Cards.
Whether you are looking for information about student achievement, class size,
school safety, school technology, or teacher quality, you have come to the right
place. This website is home to all types of education data, organized in an
easy-to-use format and available at the school, district and state levels.
New on this year’s Report Cards are the Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs). These
AMOs are calculated and reported under NCLB instead of the “all or nothing” measure of
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). AMOs also identify specific proficiency targets for
each student subgroup as opposed to one proficiency target that all subgroups must meet.
With a new statewide Standard Course of Study, new assessments and a new school accountability model
on the horizon, this year is an important and exciting time for public education.
We hope you will use the data available here to learn more about your local public
schools. This information also should help you engage in informed conversations and
better support educators and students as we move through this time of transition.
Thank you for your interest in public education in North Carolina.
