I am pleased to provide you with the North Carolina School Report Card for
the 2006-07 school year. We continue to make important progress in education in North Carolina.
Our students are competitive performers on national exams
in reading and math and on the SAT. North Carolina
remains a national leader in sending our graduates on to colleges and universities.
To continue this progress, we must stay focused on ensuring that all students are well
prepared for the demands of college and skilled work in the 21st Century.
This report card includes important information about student performance, class size,
school safety and teacher quality in your child's school. It is my goal to provide you with
a Report Card that keeps you well informed, empowered and involved in your child's school.
